Cambodian Journalists and National Authority for Combating Drugs Hold Forum on Anti-Drug Policies and Strategies

Phnom Penh, 20 July 2024 – The Club of Cambodian Journalists (CCJ), in collaboration with the National Authority for Combating Drugs, organized a forum on "Policies and Strategies of the Royal Government of Cambodia to Combat Illegal Drugs."

The event took place on the morning of July 22, 2024, under the chairmanship of General Meas Virith, Secretary General of the General Secretariat of the National Authority for Combating Drugs, and Mr. Puy Kea, President of the Club of Cambodian Journalists (CCJ).

The forum aimed to provide a platform for experts to present the Royal Government of Cambodia's policies and strategies in the fight against illicit drugs, as well as to discuss the general situation of the global drug problem, with a focus on Cambodia. It highlighted the efforts and measures taken by the Royal Government and specialized institutions in combating drug-related issues in the country.

The Cambodian Center for Human Rights (CCHR) emphasized the significance of this forum for journalists. It offered them a deeper understanding of the drug problem, knowledge about anti-drug policies and strategies, and the importance of legal procedures in drug-related cases.
